Brand Breakdown: Is Vered Organic Botanicals a Clean Beauty Brand?

Discover if Vered Organic Botanicals is actually a clean beauty brand and if we would recommend them based on their ingredient breakdown.

How Vered Started

VERED organic botanicals is an organic skin and body care line integrating therapeutic 100% certified organic essential oils, plant oils and herbs.  Founded by Vered Back, a Master herbalist, aromatherapist, esthetician and artisanal perfume. She has over 33 years of experience in the holistic wellness space.

Battling the severe symptoms of Lyme Disease, Vered studied herbalism which blossomed her grounding passion for creating this brand. Vered’s mission is “We cannot separate the body from the mind so my products were formulated with the intention to also provide results on the limbic system, aka our emotional brain. That’s where therapeutic grade essential oils come in, in synergy with anti-inflammatory herbs, and high-quality carrier oils with a small molecular structure to penetrate easily onto the skin.”

Breaking Down the Ingredients

While most of Vered’s ingredients are clean or non-toxic, we found some minimal ingredients that we do not recommend for those with allergies, sensitivities, or dermatitis. The below ingredients, with exception to Benzyl Alcohol, are active ingredients in fragrance mixes that are isolates. Oftentimes, to make a natural scent compound, manufacturers will extract from the whole plant these compounds or isolates.

Per the European Cosmetics Regulation, European manufacturers must list isolates in addition to essential oils even though they are not additional ingredients.  However, isolates listed on American products can be additional ingredients.  While we are okay with high quality therapeutic grade essential oils, we do not recommend products with isolates as standalone ingredients.

Limonene is a scent ingredient from citrus rind that can cause allergies and skin and respiratory issues.
