Loved for its minimal ingredient lists, earthy aesthetic and commitment to non-toxic formulations, the brand has become a favorite among wellness-focused consumers.
But beautiful packaging and clean marketing are not enough for us. At OhDaisey, we looked more closely at the ingredients, transparency and practices behind the brand.

Innersense Organic Beauty is a hair care brand renowned for its commitment to natural, organic ingredients and sustainable practices. Founded in 2005 by husband-and-wife team Greg and Joanne Starkman, Innersense offers a range of hair care products that cater to different hair types while prioritizing both effectiveness and environmental responsibility.

What Innersense Claims About their Ingredients
Innersense emphasizes the use of pure, organic ingredients in their formulations. Their products are crafted with natural botanicals, essential oils, and plant-based extracts, avoiding harmful chemicals and even provide a detailed list of ingredients they use on their site.
They claim, “We actively avoid over 3,000 ingredients, complying with the strictest of clean standards—including our own. We never use harmful cosmetic ingredients or unsafe toxins, ever. Our formulas are always free from parabens, silicones, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, and misleading proprietary complexes.”
Inside the Formula
nnersense takes a thoughtful approach to formulation, using a blend of naturally derived, plant-based ingredients alongside carefully selected performance ingredients. Across the collection, you’ll frequently find organic aloe vera, shea butter, coconut oil, pumpkin seed oil, green tea, and other botanical extracts that help nourish both the hair and scalp.
What stands out most is the brand’s commitment to avoiding many of the ingredients commonly found in conventional hair care. Innersense formulates without sulfates, silicones, parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances, making it one of the few professional haircare brands that closely aligns with OhDaisey’s Clean Beauty Standards.
Anything We'd Change?
Honestly, very little.
While no brand is perfect, Innersense has built its products around ingredient transparency and high-quality botanical formulations. We’d simply love to see the company continue expanding refillable packaging options and further its sustainability efforts as the brand grows. From an ingredient perspective, however, there’s very little we’d change.
Our Verdict
Innersense is one of the easiest brands for us to recommend. The combination of thoughtfully selected ingredients, transparent formulations, and a commitment to avoiding many commonly questioned chemicals makes it stand out in the professional haircare space.
