Brand Breakdown

Is SIDIA Beauty a Clean Beauty Brand?

SIDIA is a modern body care and fragrance brand bringing a little luxury to everyday routines. Known for its beautifully designed packaging, signature scents, and nourishing hand and body products, the brand has built its identity around the idea that self-care should feel like a ritual rather than another task.

But while SIDIA describes its products as clean, we wanted to look beyond the beautiful packaging and botanical ingredients to see what’s actually inside.

So we took a closer look at SIDIA’s formulas, fragrance philosophy, and sustainability practices to see how the brand measures up to the Oh Daisey Clean Beauty Standards.

The Sidia Brand Story

SIDIA was founded in 2020 by Canadian entrepreneur Erin Kleinberg, also known for co-founding Coveteur and creative agency Métier.

The brand was inspired by Kleinberg’s late grandmother, Sidia, whose personal style, resilience, and appreciation for everyday rituals left a lasting impression. Her grandmother’s approach to self-care became the foundation for a collection designed to bring intention and comfort into daily life.

What began with the search for the perfect hand cream eventually grew into a collection of hand serums, body treatments, fragrances, and candles. Today, SIDIA blends skincare-inspired formulas with sophisticated scents, creating products that feel equally at home on a bathroom counter or a vanity.

What Sidia Claims About their Ingredients

SIDIA describes its approach as combining responsibly sourced ingredients, nourishing botanicals, and modern skincare technology.

The brand formulates its body care without parabens, sulfates, silicones, and phthalates, while emphasizing vegan and cruelty-free practices.

Many products feature the brand’s signature SIDIA Complex, a combination of botanical ingredients including avocado oil, shea butter, aloe vera, and prickly pear extracts, selected for their moisturizing and skin-conditioning properties.

However, fragrance plays a particularly important role in SIDIA’s products. The brand uses a combination of essential oils, naturally derived fragrance materials, and synthetic fragrance ingredients to create its signature scents.

And that’s where our ingredient standards begin to differ.

Inside Sidia's Ingredients

SIDIA’s body care formulas contain several ingredients we genuinely like.

Take the brand’s popular Body Serum. Its formula includes glycerin, sunflower seed oil, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, squalane, shea extract, avocado oil, and prickly pear extracts.

These are all ingredients commonly used to support hydration, soften the skin, and improve the feel of a moisturizer.

You’ll also find bakuchiol, a plant-derived ingredient often marketed as a gentler alternative to retinol, along with rambutan peel extract and vitamin E.

From a skincare perspective, there’s a lot to appreciate.

However, the formula also contains Fragrance/Parfum, an ingredient listing that doesn’t disclose the complete fragrance composition.

SIDIA’s Wash takes a similar approach, combining botanical oils and extracts with cleansing agents such as sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate and cocamidopropyl betaine. It also contains fragrance materials, including tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, a synthetic musk fragrance ingredient.

While these ingredients serve different purposes within the formulas, their presence highlights why we evaluate the entire ingredient list rather than focusing only on the botanical ingredients featured in a product’s marketing.

Anything We'd Change?

Our biggest concern with SIDIA is its use of synthetic fragrance.

At Oh Daisey, fragrance transparency is especially important because the term “fragrance” or “parfum” can represent a mixture of ingredients that aren’t individually disclosed on the label.

While not every synthetic fragrance ingredient is inherently unsafe, certain fragrance materials have raised concerns around sensitization, environmental persistence, and potential endocrine activity.

We’d love to see SIDIA move toward fully disclosed fragrance formulas and eliminate synthetic fragrance materials that fall outside our standards.

We’d also take a closer look at some of the cleansing agents used in products like The Wash. Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate can be an effective cleanser, but it may be drying for some skin types, particularly when used frequently.

None of this takes away from the thoughtful botanical ingredients found throughout the collection. However, it does mean that SIDIA’s overall clean beauty positioning doesn’t fully align with the more restrictive ingredient standards we’ve established at Oh Daisey.

Our Verdict

SIDIA is a brand we appreciate aesthetically and from a formulation perspective, but it doesn’t fully meet the Oh Daisey Clean Beauty Standards.

The brand has created beautifully considered body care products featuring nourishing botanical oils, hydrating ingredients, and a genuine emphasis on making everyday routines feel more intentional.

We also appreciate its vegan and cruelty-free positioning, more sustainable packaging, and efforts to source ingredients responsibly.

However, the use of undisclosed fragrance blends and certain synthetic fragrance materials prevents us from recommending the entire collection as Oh Daisey Approved.

For anyone who prioritizes fragrance transparency or is specifically trying to eliminate synthetic fragrance from their routine, SIDIA may not be the best fit.

We’d love to see the brand continue evolving its formulas, because there’s plenty about its approach to body care that we genuinely like.

Oh Daisey Rating

Not Oh Daisey Approved — Based on Reviewed Formulas

SIDIA’s body care collection features several interesting formulas, particularly for those drawn to botanical skincare ingredients and sophisticated fragrance.

However, because the products we’ve reviewed contain fragrance ingredients that don’t align with our standards, we wouldn’t currently recommend them as Oh Daisey Approved.

If the brand introduces fragrance-free alternatives or fully disclosed formulas that meet our ingredient standards, we’d be happy to revisit the collection.
